  1. Good entertainment, mediocre football. To pick a weak opponent for the last send-off game may assure a crowd pleaser but does little to advance the sport.
Julie knows more about soccer than most but her grating voice gets on my nerves.
Something went wrong when television came into its own and blow-by-blow sports reporters became anachronisms. No further need for the uninterrupted stream of words, certainly no need to explain to the viewers what they just saw because they just saw it themselves. But somebody forgot to tell the obsolete profession of sports reporters that they are no longer needed, so, here they are, prattling and droning on about stuff most of which doesn't pertain to the games
    What a nuisance.

  2. TOP SOCCER PLAYER Sergio Aguero FORCED TO RETIRE AFTER va>< Sergio Aguero was diagnosed with an irregular heartbeat after experiencing breathing issues and chest discomfort while playing for Barca against Alaves earlier this season; 33-year-old Argentine set to retire after glittering 16-year career.

  3. I think that a lot of people in missing the wonderful Jill Ellis's team because some of US girls are great, they use to have a beautiful games with Jill Ellis not with this man Vlatko looks like he doesn't know how to do a good job with them. Hopefully Jill comes back to the team and fire that Vlatko.

  4. For all of you and your negative comments. We all love our country. That is why we wear our colors while fighting for liberty and justice for all. This is what our country says it is and we are asking to hold those promises true. Before you make it seem as if every action for justice is unpatriotic, what is unpatriotic is not demanding it. Not wanting our country to actually live by its words. There was no disrespect. Some paid respect to the man who fought for our freedom and others paid respect to the flag that flies for those freedoms. Stop look looking g for sins.

  5. American friends: probably you don't know it because you are new to the football world. But I'll tell you: the Olympics are not considered a real "trophy" in the football world. World cup Champions, UEFA, European/American cups. These are the trophies people fight for. Olympics are ignored by most team, if you look it up, many great teams dont even bother sending their best players to the Olympics because they would risk getting injured for a fake trophy.

  6. Female football is a joke…for real…I don't know how you people can watch this, people in the street under my house have better games than these…

  7. The Mexico team all face the same way and sing their anthem, meanwhile they have a failed state. They are representing their country and People. Meanwhile the US social warriors? Get your act together. That is not the time for individuality and or protests.

  8. For any actual USWNT fans looking for discourse on players and the Olympics, sadly that may not be possible for the time being. There is an ongoing campaign underway to discredit USWNT because of disinformation claiming USWNT players "disrespected the flag" and "hate veterans" and other nonsense. Hopefully moderators will highlight this message because the comments below are inflammatory and false and no one needs to be exposed to the vitriol. Enjoy the Olympics, and please, don't believe the hype.

  9. Mexican coach: Great news, ladies! Morgan and Rapinoe won't start tonight!
    Mexican players: YAY!!!
Smarter Mexican player: Coach? Who are they starting..?
Mexican coach: Ummm…Heath, Lavelle, Lloyd, Press…
    Mexican players: DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!

  10. Message to the Non American Woman's team… Well like the rapper Tom Macdonald said " Ashamed to be American ok thats cool because HONISTLY WE ARE ALL ASHAMED OF YOU TO!"

  11. Wow! So grateful to see the Mexico team support and honor their anthem and country! What a damn shame to see American soccer players behave with such disgrace and dishonor! Disgusting!!!! God Bless America and God Bless our veterans!

  12. Won, lose, or draw…
When the Olympics are done, Abby Dahlkemper will be shown to have played every minute.
Carla Overbeck, Christie Rampone… and Dahlkemper are the rock solid foundations

  13. Ever since Sam Mewis hooked up with Chloe Kelly at ManCity, Mewis has found her chops as an attacking mid.
(Good luck to Chloe rehabbing from a torn ACL late in the season.)
    Sam is dominating the upfield.
