3. I'm Argentine here, like the US coach here for those who don't might really know.
   He talks about Futbol from a different mindset that is known to have in northamerica, mexico, canada, US. In South America and Europe, Africa. The strongest national teams don't use the term "regular" for their national team players. National teams only gather a few times during the year, so the coaches will choose whoever they see performing the best, sometimes there's a bunch of players the coach would like to use but are injured or happen to be playing really bad during those days. So that's why there's no "regular" players on National Teams, certainly not in the USA and this is a huge mindset that will help to further advance how the sport is viewed in the USA if the media also embraces it. I think Pochettino should learn from this and the next time they ask questions that are not really that important, he could calmly explain why that's not important. The level of questions from the journalist will increase a lot more and how they report the sport will be just fenomenal. I think the US is very open minded due to the changes MLS has made during these last years and are continuing to push.

Mauricio, this is American popular culture… a preference for "experieced and familiar" no matter what the results… Americans enshrine people and places of the past and have a hard time with change. We vote for octogenarians and political families. We think the White House should be enshrined as an outdated, ossified museum. No trust for newcomers no matter what is self-evident with our own eyeballs. It's so tired and I'm fed up too.

16. I’m so glad Poch is addressing the fans and media over their divisive rhetoric.

    For those of us who have been fans since the Donovan and Dempsey days and before, this current generation has been a disappointment.

    Not the players so much as the team and organization. And the fans as well. Previous generations understood how important MLS has been for the national team, yet more recent fans lose their minds over domestic players in the USMNT.

    In my view, once the players are called up, our one job is to support them – not divide and belittle them. Not to objectify them as “exchangeable parts” and flood social media with hate.

    It’s been a disappointment to see how people act – and the media feeds on it. I’m not sure where one begins and the other ends, but the echo chamber of hate needs to stop.

The role is earned not given. That is the philosophy of Argentina and Scaloni. He's worked with over 70 players…. This is the problem where Brazil has struggled over recent years – it's not about the ego – you have to check that to earn your spot on the team. It's not a given, even for someone like Pulisic. He did the same with CFC, but they didn't have the patience. He was building something great and let him go. 27. 1:10 Yes, there is no A team or B team in any football (soccer for usa) national team, for example here in Argentina Scaloni changed a lot of the team in the years before the World Cup and after the World Cup. There always have to be those who are better in performance and physically. Maybe 3 or 4 players on a team are irreplaceable, but the rest have to be the best at that moment and friendlies serve for the players to show the coach how good they are.
