1. As someone from Long Island, this whole story makes so much more sense, now knowing that both of these women are from West Islip. Such Long Island, wannabe mobster behavior

  2. This is why MURICANS are irrelevant in team sports (except basketball, due to it belonging to a different demographic group but that is another can of worms) and have to make up "sports" that only they play.

  3. The United States of America is definitely not one of the most corrupt countries in the world at every level, nope no not here its all good and above board!

  4. So somebody kicked somebody years ago and this happens. Meanwhile here in Hessle a well known Premier League footballer can snort coke openly in his pub and nothing ever happens.

  5. If you wonder why the US men’s soccer team suck, it is the fact that they are bred from these privileged Ivy League schools. You can’t cry yourself into winning. The world has no pity for you.

  6. Danielle is in the wrong. Period. She got upset and tried to sabotage her and her husband's best friends since college in a sleazy and underhanded way that isn't even relevent to his role as he's coach in present time. "kicked her in the leg"… seemingly implied it was one kick, and as a soccer player… im guessing he probably took her off her feet and she had some healthy bruising. I'd also be willing to bet that there was some provocation on her part, but often women get very intimidated when they see a man act aggressively towards them the first time… which is likely what she had to get over. However, the way Danielle describes it… you'd think she was traumatized by the event of her friend. Please. In any other decade in history this situation would not even exist, as it shouldn't. Danielle has too much petty emotion and pride involved in her son, and narcissistically follows such things on social media… as you'll remember it was the "continued" criticism that Gio was receiving and not getting a pass on that she was anger was afforded to Gregg kicking his wife three decades ago. One can only pray we all are not held accountable for our dumb and mistaken accidents we had thought we'd moved on from in our late teens and early twenties… Jeez us… it sounds stupid even saying it!

  7. I'd really like to see a reenactment of the legs kicking episode. What does that even look like? Both legs? were there two kicks? side kick? sliding tackle? under a table?

  8. This escapade makes the whole matter almost a quarter of a century back when Roy Wegerle approached Coach Sampson about an affair the USMNT captain John Harkes was having with the wife of Eric Wynalda a month prior to the 1998 Men’s World Cup in France. At least this drama unfolded after the most recent WC. 🤔 At least the US is hosting the next World Cup, as this could become a Chernobyl level event, which would make the qualifying phase even more challenging.

  9. Now I understand why Earnie left the US to become TD at Dutch club PSV (besides being born in that region of The Netherlands) All that drama was too much, reminds me of the life lesson never to work alongside friends, family or people you love bc only drama can come of it.

  10. Probably will be good for the US team. They've been playing down to their opponent's level for a while, particularly in CONCACAF, where they have more resources than… everyone.

  11. This is the next level shit. Why didn't the father report it but it was the mother? I'm sure the father as a former football and a husband knows the drill. There's a leader in the team and he's the coach. PERIOD. Messi, Ronaldo, Maradona, CR7, Ronaldinho, Sacho, Hazard, Neymar, Rashord, Zlatan etc have faced public critism by their coaches or pundits. The point of it all is to strengthen and challange him as a player except if he's Delle Ali who can't get beyond critism. Tell GIO to man up to make sure his mom gets her hands off his candy. Might make potential clubs avoid him and the fiasco around him.

Instead of using logic, the mother used emotions as ALWAYS.

  13. Why is even the american football drama cringe af?

You know, we had national coaches who claimed publicly that they had never touched drugs in their life (everyone, including them, knew that this was a lie) and that they would voluntarily do a hair drug test to prove their innocence, to fail it completely, having to resign a year before the next world cup and him going to Florida (to probably take more coke). That is a proper football trainer scandal (guess who I was talking about. Funnily enough Reyna played an unfortunate role against the successor of said coach in the following world cup).

  14. Missing the fact that all this started because Claudio Reyna didn't sign USMT coaches son for his team Austin FC, so he wasn't going to play Gio in the WC.
